PART 1 (open to the Public)

102/02  The Council considered the following planning application.

02/00376/FUL: Proposed tennis court and perimeter fence; The Old wood, Betley Hall Gardens, Betley.

RESOLVED: that the Council had no objections to the proposal but would wish the Planning Committee to ascertain if any of the trees that were to be cut down were under TPO’s and would there be a requirement to replant with appropriate trees.

103/02  (i) The Council considered the item adjourned from the meeting on 23 May which was their response to Newcastle BC concerning whether or not to withdraw the Council’s objections to the Local Plan.

(ii) An examination of the original response containing the objections (made in October 2002) indicated that there was an error in that ‘west’ should have been ‘east’ and it was not possible to ascertain the exact location of the pencil line that indicated the nature of the proposed change in the green belt boundary.

(iii) RESOLVED that the Chairman contact Trevor Carter to clarify the situation and should then complete BOX D of the proforma indicating that the Council wished to uphold their objection.  John Price and Bob Lindblom would appear at the pre-hearing on 18 June to explain the reasons for this objection.

(iv) The Council then considered the second objection that was to alter the boundary of the Conservation in the area of Ladygates.

            (v) RESOLVED that the Council did not wish to with draw this objection.

(vi) The Council noted that their concern over the boundaries in the area of open/recreational space between Rodger Avenue and Ladygates appeared not to have been dealt in Newcastle’s response.

(vii) RESOLVED that the Chairman raise this in his discussions with Trevor Carter.
