149/02 The
Council considered the following planning application.
02/00480/FUL:
AMENDED PLAN
Demolition
of bungalow and erection of new bungalow and 3 mews properties; Conifers,
Common Lane, Betley.
The
Chairman reminded members of the informal discussion that had taken place at
the end of the meeting on 29 August.
Members had expressed great concern that if they were asked to make
comments on the amended plan outside a formal meeting there was no opportunity
for members of the public to express their views on what appeared to be
significant changes in the application whose location was in the central part
of the village. Consequently it had
been decided to hold this extraordinary meeting to consider the amended plan
formally and the Clerk was to check with Newcastle that their comments would be
taken in to consideration when the application was hear by the Planning
Committee on 10 September. Assurance
had been given that this was so.
RESOLVED that the
Council having considered the amended application;
a. maintains its view expressed in the earlier
communication of 26 July that the revised proposal still represents
over-development of the site;
AND
b. is of the view that a development with a new bungalow
with TWO mews properties might well be more favourably considered subject to
the normal issues of amenity space, highway usage and vertical height.
